What happened in Essonne

This is what the people who were there told us.

It was the first practice day of a contest in Essonne.

Robin went for a completely normal R transfer. It just went wrong.

He hit the ground face first and was knocked out.

People were with him straight away. Paramedics looked after him on the spot.

Because it was that bad, an air ambulance came and flew him to hospital.

Since the crash, one thing matters most: how Robin is doing.

His friends are there with him. They are keeping in touch with the hospital and with his mum in Medellín.

It looks like he has several broken bones in his face. Nothing is certain yet – he’s still being examined.

His mum

Robin has always been there for his mum.

He built her a house. With his own hands, alongside a full-time job on a building site and training for contests. Because he loves her.
